Cover of the first issue of the Journal of Glaciology
The Journal of Glaciology is the flagship scientific journal of the IGS, publishing peer-reviewed original papers in any aspect of glaciology – the study of snow and ice. The Journal was established in 1947 and has been Gold Open Access since 2016. The Journal is currently published in six issues per year and is continuously open for manuscript submissions.
As of 1 January 2016, the IGS entered into a publishing partnership with Cambridge University Press (CUP). The Journal of Glaciology is now published under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence.
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak and the uncertainty it is creating, some reviews are currently taking longer than usual. We want to reassure authors that the Journal remains open to submissions and we’re doing our best to minimize any delays.
