Journal of Glaciology
The Journal of Glaciology is published six times a year and is available online to IGS members. The Society is grateful to our founder's widow, Loris Seligman, for a generous bequest that made it possible to publish back issues of the Society's journals online for the benefit of glaciologists worldwide.
As of 1 January 2016, the Journal is published by Cambridge University Press (CUP) under a partnership agreement and published as Gold Open Access and under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence.
The Journal of Glaciology is listed in the ISI Web of Science. The impact factor as published in July 2015 was 3.240 and the five year impact factor was 3.490.
It is possible to purchase articles from recent volumes online.
Authors wishing to submit to the Journal of Glaciology please go to the CUP online submission site.
Those authors that submitted their manuscript prior to 1 January 2016 please go to our old online submission site as we will be maintaining it throughout the peer review process for manuscripts already in the system.

The Journal of Glaciology is now fully ‘Gold Open Access’.
Author contribution statement
Lead authors may now add a short end-note to papers summarizing the roles and contributions of co-authors to their paper. As some co-authors contribute the majority of analysis and synthesis and others contribute by researching and collecting raw data, this would not only benefit individuals who contribute to a given study but would help authors applying for grants, new posts and other professional evaluations.
The Contribution Statement is voluntary, and should be inserted above any other acknowledgements at the end of the paper, e.g.
Example ‘Contribution statement’
A performed all calculations and wrote most of the paper, B collected data on infrared albedo measurements, C investigated snow grain morphology, D analysed the XXX data and helped in writing this paper.
