IGS-EGG Conference Grant

This grant aims to provide financial support to early career researchers in any field of cryospheric research to enable them to attend, and participate in, conferences and meetings that are fully or partly sponsored by the IGS, up to a maximum award of £750. The grant also aims to increase participation of early-career, underrepresented minorities in cryospheric research (e.g., Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour; BIPOC), as well as those who do not have access to traditional sources of funding.

The eligibility criteria

  • Preference will be given to those applying from under-represented groups, and those who have limited access to traditional sources of funding
  • Some priority will also be given to those who have not attended a conference before (regardless of funding situation)
  • Intended conference/meeting must be fully or partly sponsored by the IGS and be scheduled for the period advertised in the announcement (see https://www.igsoc.org/events for upcoming IGS conferences/meetings)
  • The grant can be used to cover registration fees, session/abstract submission costs, travel, accommodation, and any other relevant expenses, up to a maximum award of £750
